Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the Bihar Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh Limited on Tuesday, a cooperative federation aimed at providing affordable financial support to rural women entrepreneurs.

Announcing the event on X, PM Modi said, “We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the mothers, sisters, and daughters of Bihar do not lack opportunities. Today at 12:30 PM, I will inaugurate a major initiative for rural women entrepreneurs through video conferencing.”

As part of the launch, the Prime Minister will transfer ₹105 crore directly into the institution’s bank account. According to the PMO, the Jeevika Nidhi will provide low-interest loans to women associated with self-help groups, reducing their dependence on microfinance institutions that charge 18–24% interest.

The cooperative will operate on a fully digital platform, enabling transparent and swift fund transfers. To support this, 12,000 community cadres are being equipped with tablets. The initiative is expected to benefit nearly 20 lakh women across Bihar, boosting small enterprises and producer companies established under Jeevika.

Both the Centre and the Bihar government will contribute to the functioning of the federation, which brings all registered cluster-level federations under one umbrella. Officials say the move will accelerate community-led enterprise growth and women’s financial empowerment in the state.
